1. Preheat the oven to 175°C and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, beat the butter, sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
4. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix just until combined.
6. Gently fold the chocolate chips into the dough.
7. Spoon mounds of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing the cookies about 5 cm apart.
8. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers remain slightly soft.
9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
